Disney Vacation Club is set to expand member-exclusive spaces

Disney Vacation Club (DVC), known for offering magical experiences to its members, is reportedly planning to expand its exclusive member spaces soon. These members-only lounges have become a hit since the first one opened in 2016 at EPCOT, offering a cool and quiet escape from the hustle and bustle of the theme park. These member lounges allow a respite from the hustle and bustle of the parks where DVC owners can enjoy complimentary refreshments, charge their devices, and even get assistance from Cast Members for various needs.

In 2023, Disneyland’s Star View Station brought these popular features to the west coast, offering similar amenities. The previous year, the Top of the World Lounge – A Villain’s Lair, reopened at Walt Disney World with a fresh theme and special events exclusively for qualifying DVC owners. These lounges have not only provided a place of relaxation but have also created a sense of community among DVC members.

At the 2023 Condo Association meeting, Bill Diercksen, the VP and General Manager of Disney Vacation Club, acknowledged the popularity of these lounges. He hinted at plans to create more such community spaces, particularly at Walt Disney World, further enhancing the DVC membership experience.

While the details about these new spaces, including their locations and features, remain under wraps, the possibilities are exciting. They could pop up anywhere across Disney’s vast array of parks and resorts, from theme and water parks to Disney Springs and various DVC resorts. Remember the Attic at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn & Villas? It once served as a DVC lounge, and its current use for private events shows the potential for such spaces.

DVC owners looking to access these exclusive lounges need to qualify for Membership Extras, which generally requires ownership of at least 150 points purchased directly from DVC. For those who met earlier criteria, they might already be eligible under the grandfathered rules.

Although no specific timeline has been set for revealing more details, Diercksen’s promise of “soon” keeps the anticipation high. This expansion is a clear sign of DVC’s commitment to enhancing its members’ experiences, making their Disney adventures even more special and community-focused.
